External Patterns

External Patterns are our way of archiving patterns that do not currently fit the following criteria:

• The pattern was provided for free to the public at some point in time or was widely distributed freely.
• The author has permitted the hosting of the pattern here.
• The pattern owner is untrackable/unknown.
• The pattern was sold at one point but is no longer available from the original source.

Any pattern that isn't downloadable from Pattern Archive will have a External label when searching through patterns. As these patterns might be paid, they are expected to follow or tagging-guidelines/required-tags to allow users to filter them out of search.

External Patterns also follow different rules than regular patterns as we are not intending to host the actual pattern vectorized like all of our other patterns are. Though we are still going to provide similar details about the pattern but you are expected to go to the source site to get the files they offer. These images can also be of finished works or have other information attached to them and will always be something the author has provided from the store that pattern is linked to.

As we don't control anything related to the pattern price, file types available or otherwise you will need to contact the maker for anything related to the pattern itself. WE CAN NOT REFUND YOU! Images on Pattern Archive may not be representative of the store listing as they can update them after they are listed in the Archive. If someone is attempting to use an external pattern to scam or the pattern isn't representative of what exists at the external location please make sure to report the pattern and/or contact us with the pattern ID plus details of the issue.
